Photo a day: Day 30 & 31: A weekend away

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

We as a family have had a great Summer break, loads of visitors have come and stayed and we have caught up with lots of friends and family.  The last two weekends have been wonderful with weddings to shoot .  This weekend however was our last weekend before the kids head back off to school so we took the opportunity to get away.  There was not a computer in sight for the whole weekend much to my children’s delight.  I did however take my camera and I snapped a few pics of my favourite all time animals at Arana park.  If you have not been there you really should take your family.  Allow a whole day and wear good walking shoes as there is a lot to see.

How could I have forgotten the little people

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Wedding season is a crazy busy time, I am loving it but I am also missing my portrait sessions.  I really enjoy photographing children getting them to trust me relax and have fun, you then get rewarded with these beautiful big smiles and tender moments.  I was processing wedding photos again tonight when I came across these and couldn’t believe I had forgotten to post the special little people from A&R’s  wedding so M&C my apologies you two are so super cute.

Twirly Skirts

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

My girls love to twirl.  Whenever they get a new dress the first thing they do is check out the twirl factor.  We now know to buy only dresses that can be twirled.  Here is Caity in one of here twirly dresses.  Not many days left on the photo a day challenge.  Why on earth I choose the busy month of the year I am not sure.  This was taken a few weeks ago and pulled out of archives to be blogged tonight.  Hope you like it.  Caity will be super excited in the morning to find out it was her that got blogged.  I know there are a lot of people reading this blog at the moment so how about getting a little brave and leaving a comment for Caity to read when she gets up in the morning.

The Men

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

My last two weddings I have photographed the men before the ceremony, not getting ready as I usually do but fully dressed and playing cool for the camera.  Here is a shot of G and his men taken before the ceremony down at the Whisky Bar, Oamaru.

Old Gates

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

I really love old gates, flowers and textures.  So today’s photo a day for today is St Lukes Church in Oamaru.  I drive past it all the time admire in but I have never once stopped and got out and looked at it.  So tonight I did.  I even lay on the pavement in front of the church to take photo’s from some very strange angles.  Hope you enjoy.

Photo a day: Day 25

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Busy crazy busy day.  All the kids at home bored and ready for school.  I am processing Wedding photos and will be for the next few weeks as we are right in the middle of Wedding Season and summer (yeah right).  Here are the two little princesses again from R& G’s wedding making another guest appearance.

Gangstas and Diva’s

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Another great day photographing the wedding of  A&R.  A beautiful bride who played the Diva for me so well, and a very smooth groom made  the shoot a real pleasure.    A peek into what was captured on the day, lots more to come.  Enjoy!!

Pure Kakanui Tomatoes

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

I get to photograph some interesting things.  No shots of my girls but instead you get to meet the tomato family.  Kakanui is  renowned for its wonderful soil, I am currently doing promotional material for Pure Kakanui, previously known as Kakanui Produce.  They have the best vegetables around and they are all soil grown, you can really taste the difference.  If you are at the Dunedin Farmers Market this weekend and say a big hi to Chris and Viv.

Day 21: They nearly stole the show

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Still processing wedding photos so not a chance to get some photos today.  But I thought I would share these two little princesses.  Arn’t they just gorgeous!!

Day 20: Homestyle Magazine

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Well I have been hanging out to blog about this, but I had to wait until the magazine had been published.  Every now and then I take time out from photographing beautiful people to go and photograph beautiful houses.   This was a shoot for Homestyle Magazine that I did just before Christmas.  The house was a very cool Eco house in Omarama.  The home owners were a delight to work with and the shoot went really well.    The lovely people from Homestyle Magazine have also added a small contributors feature with a lovely picture of me  (lol I hate having my photo taken) and a small write up about me in the magazine.  I must say seeing your photo in a magazine is a little strange.  In the write up they have let a little secret I have been sitting on out of the bag, I wont be spilling the beans here for a while so  to find this out you will have to buy the magazine.  I can show you the photos that make up the four page spread however.   To read the article you will,  like I said before ‘just have to buy the magazine’.
